Sample. There are 290 data points in the monthly series presented in the figure above. The time range covered by the series stretches from January 1993 to September 2025.
History. Here's a snapshot of some simple statistics computed on the whole sample: the diffusion index peaked at 46.0 in March 2004; it reached its minimum of -44.0 in February 2008; it was equal on average to 3.9.
